Manchester City return to Premier League action following the international break, and Pep Guardiola makes five adjustments to the side that fell to defeat at Anfield a fortnight ago.

Pep Guardiola makes five changes from the side that fell to defeat, leading to the nine point gap between league leaders Liverpool and City, who now sit in fourth place going into today’s clash with Chelsea. Ederson comes straight back into the side, after being ruled out of the Anfield clash through injury. Joao Cancelo and Benjamin Mendy come in at their respective full-back positions, replacing Kyle Walker and Angeliño.

As for the midfield, Ilkay Gundogan drops to the bench, while David Silva returns to the side and captains Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

The attacking three sees Sergio Aguero line-up in the centre, with Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez on either flank. Bernardo Silva drops out of the squad due to suspension.
