Pep Guardiola has confirmed in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday afternoon’s clash with Southampton that Angelino is fit, after suffering from cramp in midweek.
There were fears going into the weekend’s fixture that Manchester City may be without two left-backs, with Zinchenko already sidelined with a knee injury. However, despite concerns Angelino may have damaged his hamstring, it appears the Spaniard is fully fit.
Guardiola also confirmed the squad has NOT sustained any further injuries this week, with a crucial trip to Anfield on the horizon. The injury list remains the same going into the weekend, with Rodri, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leroy Sane, and Aymeric Laporte ruled out.
It will be imperative for Guardiola to rotate players effectively over the course of the next two games, with the blues travelling to face league leaders Liverpool in just over a week’s time. Before then, City face Southampton at the Etihad Stadium, before travelling to Milan on Wednesday night to face Atalanta.
