19-year-old Lokonga, who plays as a midfielder, has been one of the few bright points of a terrible start to the season for Vincent Kompany’s new side.
The young Belgian has started four league matches so far this season, however his contract expires in the summer, opening up the possibility of a move to the aforementioned Manchester City or Barcelona, who are both said to be interested.
However, it doesn’t look like Lokonga is in any hurry to leave, saying; “My priority is to stay at Anderlecht for two more years”. The holding midfielder is already a Belgium U21 international and appears to be highly rated.
Earlier this week, we reported a report from Sport Witness, which highlighted Lokonga’s ‘dream‘ of playing for a club like Manchester City or Barcelona. In the same report, the teenager also confirmed that he is ‘very close to an agreement‘ with the club over a new contract.
Anderlecht currently sit 13th in the Belgian Pro League, which is only made up of 16 sides, having only won three games so far this campaign.
