Good Evening Blues! The end of July is here, which means the new season is almost upon us. A few loose ends still need to be tied up, but most players are returning from vacation and all eyes are on this weekend’s Community Shield! Here is your daily transfer roundup…
City Set Sané Stance
The transfer window is coming to an end, which means one way or another, this Leroy Sané saga will be coming to an end.
Recently, Bayern Munich’s public stance seems to have shifted, with the hierarchy becoming more quiet about the situation and even condemning their manager Nico Kovac for his comments on the matter, for which he says he apologised to Pep Guardiola for. On the other side, City seem like they are beginning to dig their heels in.
From AS, Manchester City have assured Real Sociedad that they will not be moving for Mikel Oyarzabal, and this is because they will not be selling Sané to Bayern– nor will they be negotiating under any circumstances. Pep Guardiola himself is said to have told Leroy that he will not let him go this summer. Sané has told City that he would like to join Bayern, AS continues, but in the last few hours the club have “taken a step” to stop the transfer operation.
City have expressed their discontent at the public handling of the situation to Bayern. The club are unhappy with the comments made by the manager Kovač, according to Florian Plettenberg. Because of this, club president Uli Hoeness has taken matters into his own hands regarding Leroy Sané.
Meanwhile, Sané looks to have been enjoying himself in training today…
Tosin on the Move!
Tosin Adarabioyo has finally completed his season-long loan move to Blackburn Rovers for the upcoming season. The English youngster spent last season with West Brom in the Championship, and will look to continue his development with another loan this year.
We wish you all the best, Tosin!
Your Usual Daily Cancelo Story
Nothing changes, but we get a new story on João Cancelo pretty much every day. This one is from Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say talks between City and Juventus have “run aground”. A “new contact” between super agent Jorge Mendes and City was unsuccessful in bringing forward any new developments.
At least there’s only eight days left!
