Ben Chilwell is still a target for Manchester City, with the Premier League champions reportedly ‘still keen’ on the full-back, according to the Daily Mail.
The left-back, who recently turned 23, has been linked long-term with both City and Chelsea. Now, it’s being reported that Pep Guardiola’s side are still interested in the player they looked to buy originally in the summer.
Since breaking into the first team, Chilwell has made over 100 appearances for Leicester and 11 for England. His rise to prominence came as one of the few bright lights of a disastrous title defence in 2016/17.
Meanwhile, left-back has been a problem position for City ever since the departure of Gaël Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov; with the two being replaced by as many as seven different players over Pep Guardiola’s four years in charge.
Benjamin Mendy, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabian Delph, Angeliño, Aymeric Laporte, Fernandinho and Bacary Sagna have all been tested in the position, but none have so far proved to be fruitful in the long-term.
