LAPORTE RETURNS! – Sheffield United vs Manchester City (Team News)

Manchester City travel to Bramall Lane in the hopes of returning to winning ways after a dismal draw at home to Crystal Palace. And Aymeric Laporte returns to the side as they take on Sheffield United tonight.

Ederson is in his usual position between the sticks but there’s changes in the backline. Kyle Walker replaces Joao Cancelo at right-back, with Zinchenko replacing the injured Benjamin Mendy who Guardiola says has ‘muscle fatigue’. Fernandinho remains in central defence, but alongside him is Nicolas Otamendi, who replaces the injured John Stones. And the big news, Aymeric Laporte returns to the Manchester City starting XI.

Rodri returns to the base of the midfield after a brief spell out of the side. Ahead of him, Kevin De Bruyne will look to edge ever closer to Theirry Henry’s assist record.

The front three begins with Riyad Mahrez returning to the starting XI in what Pep Guardiola described as his best form so far for City. On the other wing, Raheem Sterling keeps his place in search of his first goal since the defeat at Wolves. Gabriel Jesus leads the line for City.
