Man City ‘revive’ interest in Serie A centre-back – Tottenham also claimed to be interested

Manchester City have ‘revived‘ their interest in Inter Milan central defender Milan Skriniar, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

The Blues were claimed to be interested in the 24-year-old Slovakian international during in the summer and would be willing to offer a similar amount to the €60 million previously placed on the table. However, Inter have made it known that they have no intention of letting Skriniar go, meaning Manchester City would have to drastically improve any bid in order to obtain the player’s signature.

Manchester City are still looking to add to their defensive structure, with Skriniar deemed fit for purpose to improve the backline that is known to be struggling. Skriniar has been an integral part of the Inter defence since joining from Sampdoria in 2017, keeping seven clean sheets this season for an Inter side sitting top of the Serie A table.

Tottenham are also said to be interested. However, it would be highly unlikely that Tottenham could match Manchester City’s financial firepower if it came to a bidding war, leaving the Blues in pole position.
