It’s all about arrivals in today’s edition of the Man City Transfer Round-Up, as the Blues have been linked with players all over the field. Rumours surrounding outgoings continue, with the particular focus on youth.
Here’s are a complete summary of all transfer-related news in the world of Manchester City…
City in ‘pole position’ for Lyon star
The first rumour of the day comes from CalcioMercarto, who say Manchester City are in ‘pole position’ to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon. The 21-year-old has impressed particularly in Lyon’s Champions League travels last season, but has also made an impressive start to the Ligue 1 campaign.
Manchester City reportedly do have competition from Juventus, whilst Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen on his signature. Interestingly, a late update on Friday evening stated that the Premier League champions will be sending a scout to Lyon’s next Ligue 1 fixture against Bordeaux.
‘Re-ignited’ efforts for Skriniar
Another centre-back on the seemingly endless list of targets is Inter’s Milan Skriniar. The Slovakian international is said to be NOT for sale, unless an ‘irrefutable‘ offer is made for his services. Despite this, Corriere Dello Sport, as relayed by SempreInter, have said that Manchester City have a ‘re-ignited’ interest to bring Skriniar to Manchester.
City ‘make contact’ with winger
Manchester City are seemingly already looking at replacements for Leroy Sané, who continues to be strongly linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
According to Duncan Castles on the Transfer Podcast, the club have ‘made contact’ with Wolves winger Adama Traore over the possibility of joining the club in the summer. Manchester City have reportedly spoke to the player’s representatives and have made it clear that they are ‘very interested’ in the prospect of signing Traore.
Poveda on the move?
The first outgoing story of the day comes from Beren Cross, who claims youngster Ian Carlo Poveda is ‘moving forward’ in efforts from Leeds United for his signature. Manager Marco Bielsa rates the 19-year-old ‘very highly’ and a permanent move is seen to be likely – if not now, then in the summer.
Cross claims that Poveda would immediately be included in Marcelo Bielsa’s ‘core squad’ at Elland Road. In addition, Leeds United’s Director of football, Victor Orta, and Bielsa have scouted the player ‘extensively‘, rate him highly and believe he is ready to ‘immediately‘ step into Championship football.
