Jonathan Moss will take charge of on-the-field matters when Manchester City return to action in the Premier League against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday 12th January.
Manchester City will be looking to build on a demolition job in the Carabao Cup Semi-Final First-Leg in the midweek – 90 minutes that saw Pep Guardiola’s side dismantle their cross-city rivals at Old Trafford within the first-half. Goals from Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez, as well as a calamitous own goal following some wonderful work from Kevin de Bruyne were enough to put Manchester United to bed on the night.
Jonathan Moss (49) will be the man in the middle in Birmingham on Sunday afternoon, supported by Harry Lennard and Eddie Smart as assistant referees. Touchline matters have been affiliated to David Coote.
Moss will be taking charge of his 27th match involving Manchester City, since his first appearance in a game involving the blues in 2012. The experienced match official last officiated a game involving the champions in the Premier League back at the start of December – the impressive 4-1 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor.
As for the Video Assistant Referees, they will be manned by Graham Scott (VAR) and Adam Nunn (Assistant VAR).
Match referee Moss will take charge of his 15th Premier League fixture of the season when Manchester City take on Aston Villa. So far, Moss has handed out 59 yellow cards in his previous 14 matches, awarding four penalties, and sending off two players for second-bookable offences.
