Manchester City have joined French side AS Monaco in showing an interest in the progress of Greece and Panathinaikos U19 right-back Georgios Vagiannidis, as relayed by Scouts in Attendance.
The transfer mill seems to be hotting up every single day, as the January window quickly approaches. For Manchester City fans, it’s no surprise to see the club linked with yet another defensive recruitment, after a below par start to the campaign. This week see’s the club scout out a potential right-back, in the form of Panathinaikos’ U19 defender Georgios Vagiannidis.
As relayed by Scouts in Attendance, the blues join French outfit AS Monaco in observing the progress of the teenager. The details on the monitoring of the player seem very vague, however there was nothing to suggest that Vagiannidis would be nothing more than a signing for the City Football Group, despite that being the most obvious reason at first viewing.
According to Transfermarkt’s database, the teenager has made a total of five appearances so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.
