Manchester City are amongst a host of top European clubs tracking Brazilian youngster Gabriel Veron, who apparently has a €100 million release clause, according to Corriere Dello Sport as relayed by Sport Witness.
The astronomical figure has come from Veron’s recently signed deal with current club Palmeiras – who have extended his contract until 2024. The report from Corriere Dello Sport says this included a €100 million release clause, however Globo Esporte say that the clause is actually €60 million.
Alongside Manchester City and Manchester United, European giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested in the talented right winger. City will look to use connections made when the club brought former Palmeiras star Gabriel Jesus to the Etihad in 2017.
Veron has enjoyed an extremely successful 2019, winning the Player of the Tournament at the Under 17’s World Cup, scoring three goals and providing three assists – the main highlight.
It’s also expected that Veron will soon step up to the first team in Brazil and be able to showcase his talents on the world stage. With that experience and the obvious talent he possesses, he’ll be someone to keep an eye on for the future.
