Double injury boost for Man City ahead of Liverpool clash

Manchester City were given a major boost this morning ahead of their crucial clash against Liverpool. Spanish midfielder, Rodri will be involved today and ‘maybe even’ David Silva too, according to Sam Lee of the Athletic.

Rodri has been out now for a few weeks after pulling his hamstring in Manchester City’s 5-1 victory over Atalanta in the Champions League. Similiary, David Silva was taken off at half-time in City’s win over Southampton with a muscle problem.

If the both of them were to be involved today, it would be a huge boost to Pep Guardiola, who is already without Aymeric Laporte, Leroy Sané, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ederson.

City will be looking to move within three points of league leaders Liverpool this afternoon, when they take on Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield, but are also at risk of falling nine points behind the league leaders.
