Manchester City have been fined €15,750/£13,644 by UEFA for the ‘throwing of objects’ by their fans during the 2-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb at the beginning of October, as relayed by BBC Sport.
In addition to the fine related to City’s fans’ behaviour on the night, Zagreb have also been fined €20,000/£17,326 for the same offence, as well as ‘acts of damages’ at Etihad Stadium. As well as the financial disciplinary action, the Croatian side have also been banned from selling any away tickets to their fans for their upcoming away European match.
The fines struck on Manchester City and Zagreb were just two of several fines handed out by UEFA this afternoon, with Liverpool, Red Bull Salzburg and Ajax all hit with disciplinary action related to fan incidents in the Champions League.
