Signing within a ‘matter of days’ – Transfer Round-Up (13/06/2019)

Good Evening! Today has been a quiet day on the transfer news front, but reports say one deal might be on the horizon!

Here’s your daily transfer roundup

United Interested in Cancelo…

The news from Gianluca Di Marzio today is that Manchester United have asked Juventus for information on Joao Cancelo. Juventus’ Sporting Director met with United official’s in London for discussions about the Portuguese international.

The transfer of Cancelo to Manchester City could be concluded within a matter of days, according to Tuttosport. However, the deal still requires the exit of Danilo from the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola has been pushing for the move, and “everything is ready for the farewell”, which could happen in the next week. The amount of the transfer is between €50-55 million, depending on bonuses structured into the deal.

Another Day Another Renewal!

Following news yesterday of Oleksandr Zinchenko receiving a new 5-year contract, today the Sun reports that Kyle Walker is set to follow suit and be handed new deal by City. The new deal could be extended beyond 2022.

According to Mike McGrath of the Sun, City are close to a £50 million deal for Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo, but this deal is to provide cover when Danilo departs the club.

Leicester’s Asking Price Puts City Off

According to James Robson of the Evening Standard, Leicester City have put an asking price of £90 million on Harry Maguire this summer. While Manchester United have not been put off by this figure, it could rule City out of the race.

Felix Atletico Bound?

While Griezmann has long been expected to depart Madrid this summer, it was confirmed yesterday by the club’s CEO that the French attacker will be joining league rivals Barcelona. As a result of this, Atletico have a big gap and a good chunk of change to fill it, and Portuguese outlet Record reports this morning that the door is open for Joao Felix to join the Spanish side, an “attractive scenario” for the Benfica star.

However, Correio da Manhã contradicts this report, saying Atletico Madrid does not “seduce him”, with the project not being attractive enough. Felix would rather play for Real Madrid or one of the Manchester clubs. In addition to this, Atletico are only offering Benfica €80 million, with the others offering the €120 million asking price.

Prize Increase for Brazilian

Globo Esporte has said today that São Paulo are now looking to renew striker Antony’s contract, with a view to increase his release clause to €50 million. Both City and Ajax have been monitoring the 19-year-old.
