Real Madrid star sees Man City as a “preferred destination” – but PSG also considered

Manchester City is one of Sergio Ramos ‘preferred destinations’ if he is to leave Real Madrid during the summer transfer window, according to El Mundo as relayed by Sport Witness.

The five-time Champions League winner is out of contract in the summer and is attracting an array of interest from some of Europe’s top clubs – such as Manchester City and PSG. The two clubs are considered the only potential suitors that would be able to supply the financial demands of the Spanish centre-back.

The Real Madrid captain has featured 18 times this season and kept seven clean sheets for a Madrid side who currently sit third in La Liga.

City are looking to bring Ramos to the Etihad as Pep Guardiola looks to bolster his already strong arsenal of central defenders. The distinguished defender has featured nine times in UEFA’s team of the year – a record for a defender – and would add valuable experience and leadership to a relatively young City back line.

The Blues face competition fromfellow financial powerhouses PSG who are also rumoured with City’s other potential marquee summer signing, Lionel Messi; once more being the only other side that can match the financial demands of these football superstars.
