The 18-year-old, who plays for top-division side Lanús, is also a target of Inter Milan. However, City are said to be the “most interested” Premier League club.
De la Vega has already become a first team player for the Buenos Aires side, scoring twice in thirteen senior appearances last season. He’s also a regular for Argentina’s U20 team, being included in the squad for last summer’s U20 World Cup in Poland.
In the January transfer window, reports linked De la Vega with a £10m move to the Etihad, suggesting that City could see him as a player worth spending big money on.
Former Lanús players include Miguel Almirón and Eduardo Salvio.
