Coritiba right-back Yan Couto is in Manchester with several members of his family, as a transfer from Brazil to the Premier League champions edges closer to completion, City Xtra understands.
It was reported on Thursday morning by several Brazilian journalists that Manchester City had offered a significantly greater financial package to Coritiba than that of La Liga giants Barcelona. Although reported figures seem to vary slightly, it is claimed that the deal would be somewhere between €12 million and €15 million – including add-ons.
It is now understood that the 17-year-old has travelled to Manchester and is in the city with several members of his immediate family, suggesting that a deal ahead of next summer is close to completion.
Yan Couto would officially make the move to the Etihad Stadium in June, following his 18th birthday.
