Manchester City are interested in Brescia wonderkid Sandro Tonali, according to a high-profile journalist.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Citizens have been considering the 19-year-old midfielder, who has been a shining light for his relegation-threatened team this season.
Italian Tonali, who already falls firmly into the category of ‘Football Manager legend’, has played 11 Serie A games for his side, who sit 18th in the league at the time of writing.
It now looks as though Manchester City could be interested, with Liverpool, PSG and Juventus amongst the other clubs linked.
Back in September, in response to being asked about a link with Guardiola’s side, Brescia general manager Andrea Cardinaletti was full of praise for the youngster, calling him “an impressive personality, all within a team that’s all about cohesion, group spirit and energy“. Rumours at the time suggested Brescia would ask for at least €30m to part ways with their most valuable asset.
If those words are to be believed, Tonali certainly fits the bill of a Pep Guardiola mentality. However, it would be interesting to see what City planned to do with the midfielder, who plays in a similar style to record signing Rodri, if they broke the bank to bring the impressive potential star to the Etihad.
