The Turkish publication claim that Manchester City’s manager sees Demiral as the ‘perfect candidate‘ to strengthen his depleted backline. The player, who has played 18 times in Serie A for Juventus and former club Sassuolo, is likely to cost in the region of €45m.
The primary obstacle Manchester City face is that Juventus don’t seem willing to sell, with club legend Giorgio Chiellini ageing, as well as his parter Leonardo Bonucci. Despite the recent signing of highly-rated Matthijs De Ligt from Juventus, Medhi Benatia and Andrea Barzagli have left the Italian champions in recent years and Juventus are thought to see Demiral as a potential successor.
Other teams linked with the player include Leicester City, Arsenal and rivals Manchester United. The Foxes reportedly had a bid by Juventus turned down not too long ago. Demiral’s contract at Juventus expires in 2024, but he has only made four league appearances this campaign.
