Leeds United will have to pay £8 million to secure the permanent transfer of on-loan Manchester City midfielder Jack Harrison, reports The Athletic’s Phil Hay.
Harrison (23), signed for Manchester City in 2018, after impressing at fellow City Football Group club New York City FC. The winger has spent the past two years on loan at Leeds United in the Championship, where they continue pushing for promotion to the Premier League.
This year, the England midfielder has particularly impressed as part of Marcelo Bielsa’s promotion-hunting side, scoring five goals and registering six assists. Harrison also delivered a strong performance in Leeds’ slender 1-0 defeat at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the FA Cup third round last Monday.
It is claimed by the Athletic that regardless of the outcome of Leeds United’s season, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will look to activate the clause instilled in the loan agreement last summer.
