Manchester City are among two other clubs showing an interest in Flamengo wonderkid Reinier, with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid also claimed to be in the pursuit of the teenager, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
Despite being just 17-years-old, the teenage attacking midfielder stars for the Brazilian national team – five age groups above his current setup, playing for the U23 side. Reinier is the latest emerging talent to come from the South American hot spot for footballing prodigies, with the likes of Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo coming to the attention of major European clubs in recent seasons – most notably Real Madrid in the case of those mentioned.
According to Marca, the Los Blancos are joined by bitter rivals Barcelona in the pursuit of the midfielder, with Premier League champions Manchester City also claimed to be showing a keen interested in his talent. The report claims that Flamengo value the player at €30 million and more interestingly, coach Jorge Jesus recently hinted at an imminent departure for the teenager, stating that the 17-year-old “will be sold to a big European club for many millions”.
Manchester City’s keen interest in the next crop of young prospects from the football world is an ongoing project, with Reinier being just one of several names to have been reported in recent weeks.
