Barcelona’s Director of Youth Football Patrick Kluivert has resigned himself to the loss of promising La Masia left-back Juan Larios.
The legendary striker, who has been in charge of youth players at the club since July, said “What can I do if there are players who don’t want to be in Barcelona?”, according to SPORT’s Albert Rogé.
Larios, one of the most coveted players of the famous Barcelona academy, will reportedly join Manchester City in January. The 15-year-old plays regularly for Barcelona’s U17 side.
As reported by SPORT earlier in the month, the Catalan club made a number of lucrative offers in an attempt to persuade Larios to stay at the club. They even offered him the third-highest salary in the academy – beaten only by Illaix Moriba and Ansu Fati.
Larios will be free to sign for Manchester City when he turns 16 on the 12th of January.
