Pep Guardiola has confirmed Manchester City will be without David Silva and John Stones for their trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers after the Christmas ‘break’, with Sergio Aguero ‘unlikely‘ to feature for an entire 90 minutes.
City have been without Silva and Stones for the past few games due to muscular injuries sustained this month. Sergio Aguero did return to the match day squad against Leicester in the last Premier League clash, however Guardiola has stated the Argentine is ‘not yet ready‘ to feature for an entire 90 minutes.
The Spanish midfielder and England international add to Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane, who continue to recover from their long-term injury problems sustained at the start of the season.
Manchester City travel to Molineux the day after Boxing Day, knowing a win will keep them within touching distance of second place – after the closing the gap between themselves and Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester to just one point on Saturday.
