Pep Guardiola can ‘leave when he wants’ – Man City chiefs ‘very calm’ on his future

Manchester City are ‘very calm‘ over the future of manager Pep Guardiola, according to SPORT, as relayed by Sport Witness.

Guardiola’s contract at the club expires in 2021, but some British press outlets have reported a ‘break clause’ that allows him to walk away at the end of the current season.

The man himself has repeatedly denied that such a clause exists, and insists he is happy at the Premier League champions – and not plotting his exit.

Guardiola (48), is constantly linked with managerial roles at Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and former club Barcelona, among other clubs.

Now, SPORT are reporting that Manchester City are not worried about the possibility of the legendary figure moving on prematurely and don’t expect him to leave at the end of this campaign.

They state that, although Pep’s loyalty to City’s board and staff means he’s unlikely to quit before his contract expires, the club accept that “Pep will leave whenever he wants“.

Guardiola has coached the Citizens for three and a half seasons now, winning two Premier League titles.
