Manchester City star Leroy Sané is, once again, at the centre of the transfer headlines. The latest update from SportBild, as relayed by Sport Witness, is that the German has decided he wants to make the switch to the Bundesliga, and is hoping for a deal to be completed in January.
Manchester City slapped a £150 million price tag on one of their prized assets in the summer, as rumours of a move to Bayern Munich started to escalate. But following a horrific knee injury in August, Sané has been out of action and is expected to be back on the pitch around February 2020.
With the winger’s contract slowly running down, and now seemingly no hope of any new deal with City being agreed, SportBild believe it will force Manchester City to lower their demands.
The report also suggests, with City still currently under investigation over allegedly breaching UEFA financial fair play regulations, the money raised from the potential sale will lighten the clubs worries of any sanction.
With Sané reportedly wanting an exit from the club ‘immediately’, Manchester City may be forced to sell for a lower price than they originally demanded, with a risk of losing him for much less.
