According to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester City are in the race for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez. However, Spanish giants Barcelona are already locked in talks with the 22-year-old over a possible move to the Nou Camp.
Sergio Aguero, scorer of 173 goals for Manchester City, will be a tough act for anyone to follow. When the Argentine’s contract is up at the end of next season, it’s likely the club’s record scorer will bid a fond farewell after ten years of constant goals. The question remains as to who replaces such a prolific scorer – Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan appears to be under consideration among City officials.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Manchester City are interested in Martinez, who has scored eight goals in the Serie A already this season. However, the Blues face stern competition from European giants Barcelona, who have already made contact with the player and are actively pursuing a deal.
Many other reports over the last couple of months have also claimed City are interested in Martinez, so it may not be such a surprise if any deal were to come to fruition.
