The entourage of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez have met with Manchester City officials in London at the weekend, to discuss the possibility of a transfer for their client to the Etihad Stadium, according to FCInterNews.
Manchester City have long been reported to be on the search for a suitable replacement for the ageing Sergio Aguero, who has been linked with multiple moves away from the North-West upon the expiry of his contract in 2021.
One of those potential replacements has been Inter Milan’s star striker Lautaro Martinez (22), who has also been targeted by a number of clubs including Manchester United and Barcelona. However, according to FCInterNews on Tuesday evening, officials from the reigning Premier League champions met with the representatives of the Argentine forward in London.
Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to be among the potential suitors for the 22-year-old, however only an ‘informal chat‘ has taken place with the French side’s sporting director with Leonardo Araujo.
Martinez is contracted at Inter Milan until 2023, an agreement that includes a substantial release clause reported to be around the €110 million mark. So far this season, the former Racing Club forward has contributed to 16 goals in 22 appearances – scoring 13 goals and providing three assists.
