Manchester City winger Leroy Sané has provided his followers on social media with a significant update on his return to full fitness, following his anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in the Community Shield success over Liverpool in August.
The 23-year-old has been ruled out for a large majority of the season, leaving Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola with a selection headache for a large share of the fixtures so far this campaign. Some have suggested that Sané’s injury, along with the problem sustained by Aymeric Laporte, has played a significant part in City’s struggles so far.
However, on Monday afternoon, the Germany international posted a photo on his personal instagram, stating that he had partaken in his first ‘pitch session‘ since sustaining rupturing his ACL earlier this year.
Manchester City fans will be hoping this puts the winger on track for a return in time for the business end of the Premier League season, as well as the Champions League last sixteen double header against La Liga giants Real Madrid in February and March 2020.
