Manchester City may have to go head-to-head with Sporting Lisbon to sign Argentine wonderkid Pedro De La Vega, as relayed by Sport Witness.
That’s according to A Bola, who say that the 18-year-old is a target of both the English and Portuguese giants – and not the subject of a partnership bid between the two as was previously reported.
De La Vega, who plays as a forward for Argentine club Layún, had a price tag of €10m when Genoa were interested last summer – and that fee will have only gone up as the player starts getting his first taste of senior football. He’s also now a regular for Argentina’s U20 side.
Recent reports from O Jogo claimed that Sporting would use their partnership with Manchester City to afford the highly-rated youngster, and in return give Guardiola’s team the chance to buy him later. However, this news contradicts A Bola and says both teams are interested in signing the player right now.
