Manchester City are reportedly monitoring Carlisle United’s teenage central defender Jarrad Branthwaite, along with four other major potential suitors, according to Scouts In Attendance.
The current Premier League champions’ ongoing pursuit of scouting out the best young talents in the game looks to have continued this week, with reports suggesting Pep Guardiola’s side are monitoring a player closer to home.
17-year-old Jarrod Branthwaite, who predominantly features as a central defender for League Two side Carlisle United, appears to be on the blues’ agenda. City are claimed to be joined by two other Premier League sides in showing an interest in the rise of the teenager, with Arsenal and Everton sending officials to monitor the performance of Branthwaite last weekend.
Scottish Premier League giants Celtic and Rangers also sent officials to the same fixture – a 1-1 draw between Morecambe and Carlisle.
Jarrad Branthwaite has enjoyed a remarkable start to his career, featuring in the senior setup for Carlisle United, making seven appearances for the first-team and keeping one clean sheet in the process.
