Manchester City welcome rock bottom Liverpool to the Academy Stadium this Sunday, as City look to end November with a 100% record. The Blues currently sit second in the table, one point behind Chelsea, and above Arsenal on goal difference.
Liverpool come into this fixture on a bad run of WSL form. Their recent losses to Birmingham, Everton and Arsenal sums up just the way Liverpool have been playing. The Reds have only picked up one point this season, a 1-1 draw against Bristol City.
Speaking of Bristol City, Manchester City strolled to a magnificent 5-0 victory at the Stoke Gifford Stadium last week. A brace from Pauline Bremer and goals from Ellen White, Caroline Weir and Tessa Wullaert were enough to see off a tired Bristol City side.
One of those scorers, Tessa Wullaert, now has three goals in her last three appearances, and will be looking to continue her hot streak against a Liverpool side who have failed to keep a clean sheet so far this season.
With Laura Coombs returning to the City side last week, it leaves just Karen Bardlsey and Aofie Mannion as longterm absentees. However, Megan Campbell was missing from the squad last Sunday, after she limped off in City’s 4-1 win away to Everton in the Continental Cup.
Nick Cushing will want to improve on an already impressive +13 goal difference to keep that distance between themselves and Arsenal in third place.
Predicted XI: Roebuck, Beckie, Bonner, Houghton (C), Stokes, Walsh, Scott, Weir, Wullaert, Stanway, White
