Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko appears to have returned to full first-team training on Sunday afternoon, after releasing a video on his personal Instagram.
The Ukrainian full-back has missed recent fixtures through a knee injury sustained in training. The defender received surgery in Barcelona to ‘clean up his knee‘, in the words of Pep Guardiola.
However, judging by a recent upload to Zinchenko’s Instagram, the 22-year-old has returned to training with the rest of the squad.
This will be music to the ears of many Manchester City fans, following months of injuries hampering the first team’s hopes of retaining the Premier League crown for a third successive season. Benjamin Mendy has also struggled with form following his return to injury, and the return of the Ukrainian will provide extra competition to possibly spur the Frenchman on to better performances.
Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane remain the only players ruled out through their own personal fitness problems, however the impact of their absences should not be underestimated as Manchester City enter a gruelling December.
