Bayern Munich have met with representatives of Leroy Sané to discuss a potential transfer for the winger- but they won’t move for him in January, according to new reports from Goal.
Goal says Sané’s long-term injury this season means Bayern won’t try and sign him until the summer when he’s fit to complete a medical. However, it’s believed he’s still very much their number one target and the club are “confident” of capturing him despite failing in their efforts earlier this year.
Giovanni Branchini, Sané’s agent, has been photographed with Bayern bosses recently and it’s said that the German winger was top of their agenda. Sané has a contract at the Etihad that expires in 2021, meaning he could leave for free if City don’t choose to sell him or persuade him to sign a new deal.
Links between Bayern and Sané have been ongoing for most of 2019, with the forward growing increasingly frustrated in Manchester as he was kept out for the second half of last season by Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva, before a serious injury ruled him out for the first half of the current campaign. Bayern are understood to have made an approach in the last transfer window but were rebuked, with City valuing the player much higher than the Bavarian giants.
Leroy Sané has played 134 times for Manchester City, scoring 39 times.
