The Chilean, who’s been a backup at the Etihad since the arrival of Ederson in summer 2017, is unlikely to be offered an extension when his contract expires at the end of the current season.
His career may not be over, though, as reports say he has received offers from as many as four clubs in North America’s top division. One, New York City FC, is owned by the City Football Group themselves – which could open the door for smoother negotiations with Bravo.
Bravo is said to be ‘tempted‘ by the prospect of a move to the growing league, which has seen players like Steven Gerrard, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Didier Drogba play their trade late in their careers. New York City FC has previously signed legends like Frank Lampard and David Villa, and complicated MLS registration rules are not expected to be an issue for the ex-Barcelona ‘keeper.
Alternatively, as a free agent, Bravo is able to move to any club he likes at the end of the season.
