Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has returned to training with the rest of the first team squad this week, following his recent muscular injury picked up in the Champions League three weeks ago.
In the one and a half games that the Brazilian goalkeeper has been absent from, Manchester City have seen two different ‘goalkeepers’ between the sticks, conceding four goals in the process. One of those ‘goalkeepers’ was Kyle Walker – in one of the most iconic few minutes in recent years.
Ederson however, has been photographed in training this week. The 26-year-old has been in fine form so far this campaign, keeping five clean sheets so far – joint most alongside Kasper Schmeichel and Dean Henderson.
Manchester City are set to be without four key players for the visit of Chelsea, on the basis that Ederson is match-ready, Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane maintain their recovery from their respective long-term layoffs, while Oleksandr Zinchenko remains injured. As for Bernardo Silva, he shall be serving the one match suspension following his offensive activity on social media.
