Several nations including Brazil, Argentina, Chile and USA are competing in the tournament and it’s reported that Manchester City are keeping an eye on Brazil, after picking up current striker Gabriel Jesus at a similar tournament.

Record believe it’s just a case of opportunism. Accreditation for the tournament was open and the chance to see Brazil vs Argentina was a big opportunity to see talent.

Manchester City have also had scouts at the FIFA U17 World Cup this autumn, further proving the club’s focus and emphasis on recruiting talent from a young age. More recently however, City officials have been monitoring the progress of a number of teenagers including Mexico U17’s captain as well as Wigan Athletic’s teenage forward Josh Gelhardt.
