Man City legend David Silva set for reunion with Spain legend after leaving Etihad Stadium

Manchester City’s David Silva could join Japanese side Vissel Kobe next summer when his contract expires according to El Chiringuito, as relayed by the Daily Mail.

Silva has confirmed that he won’t be signing an extension at the Etihad, making this the final campaign for a player many consider to be Manchester City’s greatest ever.

But he’s not ready to give up playing yet, and Las Palmas in Spain has been mooted as a potential destination, as well as the MLS in North America and the Chinese Super League. In recent days, reports have identified Japanese side Vissel Kobe as another possible next step as Silva enjoys the final part of an illustrious career.

The move would see Silva become the third Spanish legend to join the team in recent years, following the signings of Andres Iniesta and soon-to-retire David Villa. Germany’s Lukas Podolski, Belgium’s Thomas Vermaelen and Spain’s Sergi Samper are also on the books at the Japanese club, who currently sit tenth in the eighteen-team division.

Since arriving at City from Valencia in 2010, El Mago has played over 400 times for Pep Guardiola’s team, winning the Premier League four times and scoring 73 goals.
