Man City join Man United, Arsenal and Liverpool in race for 17-year-old Championship striker

Manchester City are one of a number of clubs interested in West Bromwich Albion teenager Jovan Malcolm, according to the Mirror

The English striker (16), has also attracted the interest of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool. He’s caught the eye of scouts with a string of impressive performances at youth level, scoring seven goals in five games so far this season.

Although his age means Manchester City would only have to pay a relatively small compensation fee to get Malcolm’s signature, the Baggies are unlikely to let him go without a fight after losing another academy prospect earlier in the year.

Louie Barry left the Championship side to join Barcelona for £235,000, and Malcolm is sure to cost far more if he goes to another English side. Reports suggest that Slaven Bilic’s team are prepared to offer Malcolm a promise of first-team football if he agrees to stay with them

City are no strangers to poaching young English talents from other academies, having acquired now Borussia Dortmund star, Jadon Sancho from Watford in 2015. City recently acquired one of West Brom’s young talents, signing Morgan Rogers in the summer.
