Despite Silva’s success with Manchester City in the ten year spell at the Etihad Stadium, Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim is reportedly ‘angry‘ at the decision to hold ‘initial discussions’ with the Spaniard.
According to Fotospor, Terim believes the midfielder will not be a good fit given his age, and wishes the club revert their transfer strategy by targeting younger players. Galatasaray chiefs see Silva as a potential option to replace Younes Belhanda – who is expected to leave the Turkish Super Lig side.
David Silva has had a remarkable career in the English game, and it may come as a surprise seeing claims that the 33-year-old is not meeting the requirements of any manager. Silva has featured over 400 times for Manchester City, winning 12 trophies in the ten seasons at the Etihad Stadium.
