Manchester City midfielder Rodri trained with the rest of the squad on Friday afternoon, ahead of Pep Guardiola’s sides trip to Anfield on Sunday afternoon, according to Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail.
According to Jack Gaughan, Rodri will be given ‘every chance‘ to prove his fitness ahead of the huge clash in the Premier League against title rivals Liverpool.
The longevity and intensity of the training that was partaken by the midfielder was described as ‘a bit‘ – not entirely encouraging in terms of his chances of starting Sunday’s game.
Manchester City will be hoping Rodri can prove his fitness last minute, with the reigning champions already being hampered by a worrying injury list. In Friday’s pre-match press conference, Pep Guardiola confirmed Ederson would miss the game following a muscular problem picked up at the San Siro on Wednesday.
The Brazilian goalkeeper joins a list of first-team stars on the sideline – Aymeric Laporte, Leroy Sane, Oleksandr Zinchenko and David Silva.
