Speaking to Estudio Futbol, TYC Journalist Esteban Edul claims that the legendary Manchester City striker will NOT be returning to Independiente -the club where he began his career before moving to Atletico Madrid in 2006.

Edul stated, as translated by Sport Witness: “Kun Agüero will not return to Independiente. The day he leaves Manchester City, it’s most likely that he will go to play in the MLS.”

It must be stressed that no specific MLS club was rumoured/named by Esteban Edul. However, the most obvious choices would be New York City FC, given the strong link with Manchester City, LA Galaxy and/or Inter Miami – the seemingly more glamorous clubs in MLS.

Sergio Aguero’s current Manchester City contract runs until June 2021, which if he was to leave upon the expiry of the deal, would take his time at the Etihad Stadium to ten years – playing a significant part in the winning of major titles at the club.
