Doyle, who’s grandfathers Glyn Pardoe and Mike Doyle made almost a thousand Manchester City appearances between them, recently made his first senior start for the club in a 3-1 League Cup home win against Southampton.

Manchester City are now looking to ensure that his future remains at the club after he also impressed during pre-season. Reports say that they intend to offer Doyle a deal that hugely extends his current 2021 contract, including a pay-rise and terms regarding his development and first-team opportunities.

Doyle has been at the club almost his whole life, playing for a junior team from an early age, and Manchester City believe he would prefer to remain at the club, much like fellow City fan and academy product Phil Foden.

The club see Doyle as a very capable opportunity to progress their goal of getting more academy prospects into the first team. The 18-year-old has represented England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 level.
