On Monday night, further details came to light about Manchester City’s involvement and monitoring of events at the U17 World Cup in Brazil this autumn. According to ‘Scouts in Attendance‘, the Premier League champions have already had representatives attend two fixtures at the tournament.

Along with representatives from Manchester City, scouts from a number of other major European clubs attended Brazil’s win over Canada, and Angola’s victory over New Zealand. Other clubs named by ‘Scouts in Attendance‘ were Arsenal and Manchester United from England, Barcelona from Spain, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich from Germany, as well as Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan.

The same source then expanded on these details by stating that both Manchester clubs ‘appear to be covering every game‘ at the U17 World Cup with ‘multiple‘ scouts. It certainly sounds like a very extensive and closely monitored mission by the two sides, who have coincidentally both been linked with similar players in recent transfer windows.
