Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has been named as the 2019 Sportsperson of the Year at the 2019 Ethnicity Awards this evening.
Off the back of a magnificent performance against Atalanta in midweek, the rise of the England international continues off the field, after being named as ‘Sportsperson of the Year’ at the Ethnicity Awards.
Raheem Sterling faced competition from several high-profile figures in the world of sport, such as former Manchester City women striker Nikita Parris, Mo Farah CBE and Anthony Joshua OBE.
Other winners at this evenings awards ceremony included Emeli Sande (HSBC Icon), Moira Stuart (Media Impact) and Amy Jackson (Influencer of the Year).
Tonight’s award adds to Raheem Sterling’s growing list of accolades on and off the pitch, after he also received the Blue Peter Gold Badge and was nominated for the Ballon D’Or this month.
