Last week, it was reported by the Daily and Sunday Express that Raheem Sterling was on the verge of being offered a new £450,000-a-week contract by Manchester City to prevent a move to Real Madrid amidst increased interest from the La Liga giants.

The legitimacy of the report was placed under scrutiny by many Manchester City fans, pointing out the breaking of the club’s strict wage structure, as well as the journalist himself being a rugby reporter.

Today, Raheem Sterling’s representatives have made their feelings very clear on the report, through a series of Instagram posts. Colossal Sports Management have labelled the story as ‘fake news’ and also questioned the legitimacy of the journalist.
