Manchester City midfielder Rodrigo limped off midway through the second-half in his side’s Champions League clash with Atalanta on Tuesday night.
The Spanish defensive midfielder, who has been a revelation for Pep Guardiola since joining from Atletico Madrid in the summer, sustained what appeared to be a hamstring injury late on in the first-half against Atalanta.
Rodri joins three other Manchester City players ruled out through injury, with Oleksandr Zinchenko sustaining a knee injury prior to the Champions League clash at the Etihad Stadium. Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sané also remain sidelined with long-term injuries sustained earlier on in the campaign.
This hamstring injury puts Rodri in serious doubt for Manchester City’s crucial trip to Anfield in a fortnight’s time, with these type of injuries usually leaving players out for a minimum of three weeks.
