Manchester City are leading the race for Hearts defender Aaron Hickey, despite significant interest from a number of English clubs, according to a report from the Sun.

It is claimed that Arsenal and Liverpool were among seven Premier League clubs attending Hearts’ clash with Rangers at the weekend, monitoring the performance of the teenage defender. Representative from Newcastle, Norwich, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa were all in attendance.
The same report also suggests that QPR and Leeds are also monitoring the 17-year-old, as well as Hearts’ opponents at the weekend, Rangers. Despite the heavy interest in the teenager, Manchester City are thought to be ahead of the pack, with Hickey set for what is described as a ‘mega-money‘ move to the Etihad Stadium.

With Pep Guardiola’s side hampered by injury so far this season, recruitment in the defensive department could be looked upon, especially with the recent injuries to Oleksandr Zinchenko and Rodri.
