One of Europe’s most highly-rated prospects, Erling Haaland of Red Bull Salzburg, has proven his admiration for Manchester City and their icons of the past with a post on his Instagram story today.
With Manchester City being heavily linked with a move for teenage sensation Erling Haaland in recent weeks, his latest activity on social media will only add fuel to the fire.
As many will know, the Salzburg striker is the son of former Manchester City defender Alf-Inge Haaland, who spent three years with the Maine Road club, making 47 appearances and scoring three goals in the process.
Today, Erling Haaland shared a photo uploaded by Timothy Weah, son of former Manchester City forward George, on Instagram. The photo, seen below, shows the fathers of both youngsters challenging for the ball during their time with Manchester City – with Erling Haaland captioning his story ‘Heroes‘.
With strong links between the Haaland family and Manchester City, it is unsurprising that such strong transfer rumours linking the teenager with a move to the Etihad Stadium have come about. Given his prolific goalscoring form this season – 18 goals and 5 assists in just 12 appearances – these rumours are set to continue over the coming weeks.
