Oleksandr Zinchenko was absent from Manchester City training this afternoon ahead of their Champions League clash against Atalanta at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
According to Andy Hampson, the Ukrainian international was missing with ‘illness’, putting his availability for tomorrows game in doubt.
Since his move from FC Ufa, Zinchenko has emerged as an unlikely fan favourite at left-back, instead of his preferred position of attacking midfield. His performances have earned himself a regular spot in the Manchester City team, ahead of Benjamin Mendy and Angeliño.
Zinchenko, who recently became engaged to his girlfriend during the international break, will look to maintain a spot in the side as the season goes on, especially with the return to fitness of Benjamin Mendy and the challenge from Angeliño.
