Manchester City are ‘mulling over a move’ for 17-year-old, highly-rated Nigerian winger Andrew Ijiwole, according to an exclusive report by AllNigeriaSoccer.com.
Manchester City have reportedly handed the teenager a trial, with a view to complete a permanent transfer in the upcoming January transfer window. City U18s boss Gareth Taylor has already had the chance to see Ijiwole in action, albeit through a 12 minute stint from the substitutes bench, in Friday night’s 4-1 win over Stoke City in the U18 Premier League.
This will be the second time Manchester City have monitored the progress and ability of the Nigerian winger, after he impressed in a friendly against the club whilst playing for Huddersfield Town U17s in 2018.
Prior to his arrival at the South Yorkshire club in 2018, Ijiwole had spells with the youth academies of Southampton and Queens Park Rangers – two of the more established and highly-regarded setups in the country. In August 2019, Huddersfield Town loaned the teenager to Northern Premier League side Ossett United on ‘work experience’.
